The desire for uniqueness and originality was at the birth of the design for the Czech amateur team CTW Cycling. For their racewear design, they decided to approach the Tomski&Polanski illustration studio, a renowned duo of enthusiastic artists whose portfolio includes several interesting illustrations on cycling themes. Together, they embarked on a unique artistic project, which resulted in this unmissable ART OF CYCLING limited edition.

A jersey that has a story
CTW Cycling team captain Petr Zikmund came up with the idea to create a unique illustration that could be transferred onto cycling apparel: we never doubted for a second who we would approach to turn it into a work of art. Tomski & Polanski has painted a picture of everything we love about cycling.
In the words of the artist himself, Lukáš Tomek, the illustration shows us a landscape, on a dirt road on which racing riders are speeding. In the background we see hints of two Czech cities, specifically Prague and Tábor. The sky is decorated with three stripes, which refer to the CTW team logo, and we also see a raven in the sky, symbolizing the memory of a teammate who died of cancer. The colour scheme is based on the yellow that the CTW team has worn before. The jersey now also evokes the Tour de France a little, thanks to the yellow. It's bold and complemented by modern juicy shades of purple, blue, pink and orange. Overall, it's a very distinctive and unmissable piece.
Creating a work of art was the first important part in this process of making a unique cycling garment. But for the artist of the colourful and elaborate illustration, the question remained what would happen to his creation once the graphics were sublimated onto the jerseys.
It is a beautiful result. When František Raboň (of KALAS Sportswear) first brought it to me, I couldn't take my eyes off the jersey. The perfect craftsmanship from KALAS combined with our illustration is a great honour for our portfolio. I can't wait to wear the jersey proudly on rides this year. I firmly believe that everyone, both the CTW team and KALAS will receive positive feedback and it won't stay just one joint project. I already have a few other ideas in mind that would look great on other jerseys.
